Peugeot’s history has seen many innovations, from the first four-cylinder engine on the Type 39 in 1902, to the latest petrol engines developed through the co-operation between PSA Peugeot Citroën and the BMW Group. Peugeot was also the first manufacturer to introduce a Diesel Particulate Emission Filter as standard on the 607 in 2000. This technology can now be found on more than 1.8 million HDi diesel powered Peugeot vehicles around the world. For the future, Peugeot will remain a manufacturer at the cutting edge of technological innovation. From the start of the next decade, Peugeot will be producing vehicles equipped with second-generation Stop & Start systems on a massive scale, as well as vehicles with hybrid technology.

An environmentally-friendly future

Over the years Peugeot has demonstrated its intention to lead by example through its commitment to reducing both greenhouse gas emissions and the environmental footprint of its vehicles. Since 2001, more than 1,100,000 vehicles emitting less than 120g of CO2/km have been registered by Peugeot in Europe. >In 2007, 40% of private cars registered by Peugeot emitted less than 130g of CO2/km, making the manufacturer one of the undisputed leaders in the field of reducing CO2 emissions. Peugeot intends to develop this competitive environmental benefit even further. >It is the only car manufacturer in the world to have a concrete global policy in place regarding CO2 . Furthermore, since 1998 and in addition to all its other activities, Peugeot has been conducting a major reforestation project in Amazonia which, over a 40 year period, aims to help balance out carbon emissions in the atmosphere.

Britain’s best selling convertible car, the Peugeot 207 CC is a trend-setting icon with bags of style and driving prowess to boot, and this summer it’s just got even ‘hotter’, thanks to the readers of ELLE magazine.

Badged as the 207 CC ELLE, this limited edition‘s unique interior styling has been created by readers of ELLE magazine as part of a competition to design their own car. ELLE provided readers with a choice of exterior colors and interior designs, and the winning designs have then been put into production by Peugeot.

Like every good couture range, Peugeot has developed four 207 CC ELLE models, each with a different bespoke leather interior and available in four interior/exterior color combinations to suit every style:

‘Glamour Mode’ – Thorium Grey metallic with black leather and Mulberry trim
‘Classic Couture’ – Lacerta Yellow with black leather interior with a graphite trim
‘Rock Chic’ – Diamond black with black leather interior with a pale pink trim
‘Urban Chic’ – Silver and black leather interior with a bright blue trim

The interior is also accessorised with unique quilted center panels on the seats, door and side trims, ELLE logos embossed into the front seats, a carbon leather trimmed instrument cowling with contrasting stitching, leather gear lever gaiter with contrasting stitching and ELLE embroidered floor mats.

Unlike most catwalk models, the 207 CC ELLE is powered by more than just the occasional lettuce leaf. Its 1.6-litre VTi 120 engine will leave others standing at the traffic lights, as they gawp at the 17” Hockenheim alloy wheels and its curvaceous aerodynamic exterior body style. It also comes with a comprehensive sport pack including sports mesh front grille, leather covered steering wheel, body-colored exterior moldings, aluminum pedals and gear knob. To ensure the occupants stay as ‘cool’ as possible, dual-zone climate control with air-conditioning is also a standard feature.

Owners of the 207 CC ELLE also receive special ELLE branded leather accessories to match the cars’ interior: key ring, credit card holder, coin purse and a leather service / handbook wallet.

There is also an optional styling upgrade kit available which includes twin front spoilers, sill extensions and twin sports exhausts, to create that special look.

Launched this week is a Special Edition Peugeot 107 in association with the popular KISS radio station. The 107 KISS has an enhanced specification, KISS livery and aimed at the young at heart, and available in either Laser Red or Raven Black metallic. It’s clearly the urban car for people who love music as it’s fitted with a terrific sound system and a USB socket to plug in an iPod or other MP3 player to enjoy a personal music collection in the car.

All the attributes of the 107 are present on the KISS model, which include ABS with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBFD) and Cornering Stability Control (CSC), integrated front seat head restraints, electric power steering and driver and passenger airbags. Exclusive to this Special Edition are KISS labeled floor mats, central door locking, electric windows, an upgraded Clarion stereo radio and CD player with removable front panel plus upgraded speakers and a subwoofer with additional volume control – ideally for tuning into KISS (100-108 FM dependent on area) while on the move. In addition, the unit features a USB socket to enable an iPod or any MP3 player to be connected – the iPod display is transferred to the radio screen.
